>> he does have his work cut out for him. >> good morning to you, tom. >> this morning we have a partly cloudy to mostly clear skies. temperatures are a bill chilly this morning, down into the 40s in the shenandoah valley to the mid-50s in washington, 57 in washington. prince george's county now the upper 50s. and it's in the 40s to near 50 in montgomery and fairfax counties and in southern maryland near the chesapeake bay, temperatures are in the mid-50s as is the eastern shore. temperatures into the upper 30s in the mountains. we've seen a few overnight sprinkles that have dissipated at this hour. they pushed over the eastern shore and behind that system we have some clearing skies. we'll have lots of sunshine today with after-nan highs climbing to near 70 degrees. a delightful friday on the way. but the weekend, a big change coming in. looks like it will be rainy and cool on saturday. afternoon highs tomorrow only around 60 degrees with light

showers from time to time, mainly from late morning into the afternoon. that will linger into sunday and perhaps into monday and tuesday as well, first part of next week. maybe even thunder and lightning on sunday and monday. how's the traffic. as we get under way on this friday morning we're doing pretty well. the capital beltway over just south of the american legion bridge, right side the inner loop, left side the outer loop, travel lanes are open. there's a lot of overnight construction through the springfield enter change as well as the i-66 interchange. let's see how we're doing elsewhere. the drive along interstate 270, the overnight road work for the most part was on the northbound side. southbound, your lanes are open. joe and eun, good morning to you. >> thank you. two more men are in custody for the worst mass shooting in d.c. history. police arrested the suspects yesterday in connection with last month's drive-by shooting that left four dead and five others injured. they're now looking for a fifth suspect. meanwhile, all charges have been

dropped against the 14-year-old originally implicated in that shooting spree. nbc 4's jackie bensen has the latest. >> i apologize. in a perfect world we would never have mistakes. >> reporter: a highly unusual statement from peter nickel. he announced all charges are dropped against the 14-year-old. nine people were shot and four were killed in the incident on the night of mar 30th. the victims, most of them teenagers were standing in front of a house when a van drove by and its occupants sprayed them with an ak-47 and two other guns. after a chaotic police chase and bailout in which four officers were injured, the teen put his hands up when confronted. police later learned he was wanted on other charges. evidence from the getaway van itself has cleared him of the murders. >> the fingerprint evidence we

received yesterday demonstrated to us in conjunction with the witness statements we had, that the charges should be dismissed. >> reporter: two men, 26-year-old nathaniel sims and 20-year-old orlando carter were arrested that night. d.c. police chief kathy lenier says two more men have been arrested. a fifth and final suspect is still out there. >> i am urging that person or those who know that person to have him come forward for his own safety and turn himself in. we will find him and we are actively looking for him. >> reporter: under arrest, 22-year-old robert boss and 22-year-old lamar william, both of southeast washington, one is said to bear a resemblance to the 14-year-old who had been charged as the getaway driver. jackie bensen, news 4 today. the victims families reacted to the exoneration with anger. some of them are demanding answers. >> we're hearing from the uncle of the young teen who was

cleared in the case. he talked exclusively with news 4's darcy spencer. >> reporter: he says he's the uncle of that 14-year-old boy who has been cleared in the drive-by shooting that left four people dead. >> he wasn't out. he wasn't associated with people like that. he wasn't carrying guns or nothing like that, especially those type of guns anyway. >> reporter: a d.c. police sergeant says she saw the teen behind the wheel of a van used in the deadly shooting. but new fingerprint evidence led to his exoneration. the teen had a lengthy arrest record of crimes committed since he was 9 years old . >> he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. >> reporter: you think some jumped to conclusion? >> yes. >> reporter: relatives of those killed are angry that the teen are being let go. nardine jeffries -- >> let this monster out to wreak

somehow be connected. brian betts was found dead in his silver spring home last thursday. his vehicle was taken and police found it in southeast washington several days later. now detectives say another vehicle was seen in an alley beside betts' home around the time of his murder. >> we have sources telling us that a vehicle was seen leaving the alley adjacent to mr. betts' home. at about 12:15 thursday morning. >> investigators have not released a description of that vehicle. they also believe there may be more than one suspect in betts' death. funeral arrangements have been made for civil rights pioneer dorothy height. her body will lie in repose thursday night on pennsylvania avenue northwest. they said that organization for 40 years. on wednesday there will be two memorial services, her funeral will be held next thursday at the national cathedral and it will be open to the public. two of the three american hikers being held in an iranian prison are said to be in poor health this morning.

shane bauer, sara shored and josh fatale were arrested last year. the situation is being handled by swiss diplomats. they were able to talk to them diplomats and told them shored is battling depression and another one has stomach isss. the time is 4:38. 55 degrees. ahead, the search continues for missing workers. >> there was a new concern after that oil rig explosion in the gulf. the airlines are up in arms over new tarmac rules. get some bad news. after the break, tom will have a look at your weekend weather. we'll be right back.

good morning, 4:41. time for weather and traffic on the ones. i'm tom kierein. temperatures into the 50s in montgomery, fairfax, prince george's county in the upper 50s. to our west, around the 50s on the shore. for the rest of the day, we'll have lots of sun with highs around 70. saturday, cloudy, cooler, chance of light showers from time to time with highs near 60. on sunday and monday, mostly cloudy both days, a chance of passing showers and thundershowers during the

you're watching news 4 today. a deep water oil platform has sunk into the gulf of mexico and rescuers say there is only a slim chance that 11 missing workers survived. the explosion rocked the deep water horizon monday night. for most of the day it burned as an offshore inferno before slipping below the water

yesterday. >> it was totally engulfed, flames shooting into the air. there were a couple life boats by it. it was surreal, something i've never seen before. >> crews are still searching for the missing workers. the rig could unleash more than 300,000 gallons of crude into the water each day. the danger would be greatest if the oil reached the louisiana coast about 50 miles abay. several senior staffers at the securities and exchange commission are in hot water this morning after they reportedly surfed pornographic websites for up to eight hours a day. the associated press learn the that the s.e.c. inspector general conducted 33 probes of employees over the last five years. one senior attorney spent up to eight hours per day downloading pornography. another account was blocked from websites month are than 16,000 times in one month. employees were at a senior level

banks took millions of jobs from their workers. >> it seems like they're the ones who are suffering while people on wall street continue to get rich. >> reporter: moveon.org is running this tv ad, accusing the top republican from soliciting from wall street. >> senator mcconnell, that makes you unfit to lead. >> reporter: hundreds have descended on washington, ready for this fight. democrats are hoping to get something on the president's desk by memorial day. tracie potts, nbc news, washington. next week, airlines will be banned from stranding passengers on planes on the tarmac. there will be no xeexceptions. the rules establish a three-hour time limit for keeping passengers in planes on the tarmac. five airlines wanted temporary exemptions. jet blue, continental and u.s. airways. the transportation secretary has turned down those requests.

ray lahood is saying the rules are consumer protection. volcanic ash clouds continue to dissipate. stranded travelers are returning home and so are many people in iceland who were forced to flee after the volcano near their homes began to erupt. meanwhile, the u.s. air force is warning that it's concerned that some of its fighter jets in europe could suffer long-term damage if the volcano doesn't stop spewing ash into the air. nasa's shuttle may have landed this week but there's already a new shut until space. this one is top secret. look at this. >> liftoff of the united launch alliance, atlas v rocket. >> there was a top-secret space plane, the x-37. the military is using that plane as a way to test new equipment, sensors and materials in space without using astronauts. the x-37 can stay in orbit for up to nine months. the unmanned spacecraft will

morning. the temperature right now at reagan national airport is at 57 degrees. and the humidity is up there a little bit as a result of the overnight few sprinkles that we had. the wind coming in out of the north/northeast now at about 7 miles aen hour. now let's take a look at the area temperatures. it's in the upper 40s now in fairfax county. and in montgomery county as well as in parts of northern prince george's county but southern prince george's in the mid-50s, upper 50s in washington. on the eastern shore, temperatures are in the mid-50s. meanwhile out of the mountains, it's in the upper 30s. radar picking up a few sprinkles in the lower part of the eastern shore northeast cambridge just south of oxford. those are sliding off to the south and east at this hour. now the temperatures out of the mountains, a chilly morning there. in the upper 30s. mid-50s eastern shore and through southern virginia and across the carolinas. around the nation, we have this storm system that's taking shape here through the central plains, spreading some rain. all the way into the upper

midwest from this system. this is drifting our way. looks like it's going to be in place for the weekend, i'm afraid. here's how we're looking for today. temperatures by 9:00 intoed mid-50s. perhaps into the near 60 degrees or so. then it does look like we'll have quite a bit of sunshine this afternoon. that was a little bit of a mistake there about the rain. pay no attention to that. it looks like a sunny day today. overnight tonight, increasing clouds. during the day tomorrow will be cloudy and cooler with highs just the low 60s. sunday into monday, it looks like we'll be in the upper 60s to mid-have but a chance of showers and maybe some thundershowers, both of those days. and a look into next week, we may get lingering rain as well on tuesday. drying out, warming up a bit midweek. how's the traffic, tom? if you're planning on heading for downtown, smooth sailing all the way around. 393, landmark shirlington, gw

former illinois governor blagojevich, he's accused of scheming to sell or trade left vacant by president obama's election. blagojevich's attorney says the president's direct knowledge of allegations made in the indictment. blagojevich pleaded not guilty. it would be extremely unusual, of course, for a sitting president to testify at a political corruption trial. do cell phones cause cancer? european researchers have launched a major study hope be to find out. it's called the cohort study on mobile communications. they'll study the cell phone habits of more than 250,000 people. they hope to find connections between cell phones an cancer and neurological diseases, like parkinson's. the fund-raiser for the march of dimes is a way for families who have lost a child to honor their memory. >> kristen dahlgren reports how

one soldier in iraq is not letting his being half a world keep him from showing his support. >> reporter: shawn and emily newsome are the proud parents of two healthy children but their journey through parenthood hasn't been easy. before aden and grace came along they had sara elizabeth. >> about 24 hours after she was born we noticed she wasn't responding very well. >> reporter: sarah died hours later from complications of a rare heart defect called hlhs. they only had time to take a few pictures. >> when that occurred, there's this void and you need to fill it with something. >> reporter: they turned to the march of dimes and along with family and friends have participated in the annual fund-raising walk for the past nine years. but this year, one of their family members couldn't make it. >> we're all going to put a t-shirt on here and at least take photos. >> reporter: their brother-in-law, sergeant first class is serving in iraq.

>> i wasn't going to let being in iraq stop for helping out. >> reporter: he organized the first march for baby held on an overseas army base. on april 16th, 125 of his fellow soldiers walked and ran in baby sarah's memory. >> my second family, which is the military, they were here. everybody was really supportive. >> reporter: as was his family back home. >> knowing their schedule, knowing the time it took out of their day, knowing they probably didn't get much sleep, some of the guys before they did it, some of the soldiers means a lot. >> reporter: jay says even a war zone couldn't keep him from helping his family. >> i really couldn't imagine losing one of my children. i didn't ever want to see anyone ever have to go through that again. that's why i help out any way that i can. >> reporter: one soldier's fight for a cause close to home.

studio with the latest. looks like a fis day. >> should be lots of sunshine. right now off to a clear start and kind of chilly. 56 in washington. mid-50s in prince george's county, montgomery and fairfax counties have dipped into the 40s under a clear sky. mid-40s around the blueridge and shenandoah valley on the eastern shore, temperatures are near 50 degrees. there are a few lingering sprinkles from a weak front that came through overnight that are still over on the eastern shore south of oxford, heading towards salisbury. lots of fun with a high near 70. big changes for the weakeneded. saturday looking cloudy and cooler with highs only in the low 60s. and some light rain looks like we'll be moving in midday and then off and on during the day saturday. perhaps some passing showers and thundershowers especially sunday afternoon and again on monday afternoon. highs in the 60s. jerry, how's the traffic. >> pretty quiet morning as we get under way on this friday. the capital beltway over near river road, the scene of a lot of overnight road work.

>> reporter: on more arrests being made and now some releases being made as well. a 14-year-old who was originally considered a suspect in this case has been exonerated as these new warrants have been issued. d.c. attorney general peter nickles said yesterday during a press conference that all charges have been dropped against the 14-year-old who was originally suspected of being the getaway driver in the deadliest mass shooting in d.c.'s history. it happened march 30th. nine people were shot and four were killed that night. the victims, most of them teenagers, were standing on a corner when they were sprayed with shots from an ak-47. a sergeant said she witnessed the 14-year-old driving the getaway van, police now say fingerprint evidence and witness statements have exonerated the 14-year-old boy. now, d.c.'s attorney general fears for the safety of that 14-year-old who may now serve as a witness. he regrets his name ever being released. >> i apologize.

of the 14-year-old boy. the teen was cleared of all charges, including several counts of murder after fingerprint evidence did not link him to the crime. the police sergeant claimed to have seen the boy at the wheel. at the moment he remains in protective custody. meantime, his family fears for his safety. >> he really wasn't involved. he happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. that's all it was. >> you think some jumped to conclusion. >> he was a 14-year-old with a record. that's all. >> they're letting this monster out to wreak havoc on washington, d.c. and the metropolitan area once again. >> reporter: meantime, police did arrest two more people and they're searching for one more. two others remain behind bars. they were arrested the night of the shootings. joe, back to you. >> elaine reyes, thanks very much, elaine. stay with news 4 for every step of the way during this mass shooting investigation.

head to www.nbcwashington.com for more information and background on the case. this morning, police are looking for new information about a vehicle seen leaving brian betts' neighborhood on the night he was killed. betts was a principal at shaw middle school at garnet-patterson. lets' suv was taken and police founded it in southeast washington several days later. now detectives say another vehicle was seen leave an alley besides betts' home around the time of his death. investigators have not released a description of that vehicle. the story may be hard to believe. while the nation's financial system was falling apart, several senior staffers at the securities and exchange commission, reportedly, spent hours and hours looking at pornography. the associated press learned that the s.e.c. inspector general conducted 33 investigations of employees over the last five years. one senior attorney at the washington headquarters spent up to eight hours a day downloading pornography.

another accountant was blocked from websites more than 16,000 times in one month. and 17 of the employees investigated were at a senior level. and they earn up to $222,000 per year. some of those staffers have already resigned or have been suspended. growing concern off the coast of louisiana where a deep water oil platform has sunk into the gulf of mexico. the deep water horizon went down yesterday after being rocked by an explosion on tuesday night. 11 workers are still missing. rescue crews say there's a slim chance of survival but they haven't given up. >> how long could a person reasonably survive in waters of these temperatures? and the conditions we have? we will go beyond that survivability because it's always an estimate. >> environmentalists are also keeping tabs on the disaster. now that the platform has sunk, more than $300, than 300,000 ga

the commerce department will release its latest report today. it's expected to show a 7% increase in march. new home sales reached a record low in february. analysts think the numbers will be on the upswing because consumers are trying to qualify for federal tax credits that expire at the end of this month. more americans will get health care coverage but the costs are also going up. economic experts at the health and human services department report 34 million will be added, but the cost will increase 1% over ten years. that increase could get bigger since medicare cuts in the law may be unrealistic and unsustainable, the report warned. many democrats are worried about the report. metro riders could be paying more under a fare hike proposal. the agency wanted to raise base peak fair to $1.90. bus riders would pay more, jumping from $1.25 to $1.50 and parking fees would increase 50

this as new warrants have been issued for additional suspects. peter nickle said in a press conference yesterday that all chargehad had been dropped against the 14-year-old boy who was originally suspected of being the getaway driver and the deadliest mass shooting in d.c.'s history. it happened on march 30th on south capital street southeast. nine people were shot, four killed that night. the victims, most of them teenagers were standing on a corner when they were sprayed with shots from an ak-47. while a sergeant witnessed the 14-year-old driving the getaway van, police now say fingerprint evidence and witness statement vsz exonerated the 14-year-old boy. the d.c. attorney general fears for the safety of the 14-year-old who may now serve as a witness in this case. he regrets his name was ever released. >> public disclosure, which was unlawful, of the respondent as being involved in this crime has

mr. betts' home at about 12:15 thursday morning. >> investigators have not released a description of that vehicle. they believe there may be more than one suspect in betts' death. a public funeral will be held for civil rights icon dorothy height. her body will lie in repose friday night. height led that organization for 40 years. on wednesday there will be two memorial services. her funeral will be held next thursday at the national cathedral. it will be open to the public. a homeless man will serve nine months jail after he stole a single engine plane and wrecked it at the frederick airport. he pled guilty to burglary charges yesterday. cox lawyer says he stole the plane because he was homeless and cold. he lived in the woods near the airport for more than seven years. cox will also have to undergo a psychological evaluation and pay back the plane's owner for damages.

instead, a new report says they were looking at internet pornography, in some cases up to eight hours a day. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us live with more on this. good morning, megan. >> reporter: good morning. you're right, we're hearing this report here, this allegation coming out, very surprising allegations that high-ranking employees with the securities and exchange commission were spending hours a day surfing for porn while at work and that they were doing all of this as the s.e.c. was dealing with the nation's financial meltdown. now, the associated press has obtained a copy of a memo written by the s.e.c.'s inspector general that outlines the findings of several internal probes. 33 of them in the past five years. among the surprising findings, a senior attorney with the s.e.c. surfed and downloaded porn for up to eight hours a day. and when his hard drive got fulled, he burned the material to cds and dvds which he kept in his office.

the memo says he agreed to retire when confronted. also an accountant was blocked from accessing sexual websites 16,000 times in one month. but the report says that he found a way around the s.e.c.'s filter and was able to amass a collection of pornography. that employee was suspended for 14 days. the memo says 31 of the cases investigated occurred in the 2 1/2 years since the financial meltdown and 17 of the employees are senior level, making over $200,000 a year. needless to say, many on capitol hill are not happy with this memo and the findings. and they're calling for a crackdown. joe, back to you. >> amazing story. megan mcgrath reporting live. thanks very much, megan. a desperate search continues off the coast of louisiana, but the outlook is grim. a deep water oil platform sunk into the gulf of mexico yesterday. and rescuers say there is only a slim chance that 11 missing workers survived.

next week, airlines will be banned from stranding passengers on the tarmac and there will be no exceptions. the rules establish a three-hour time limit for keeping passengers on the tarmac. five airlines wanted temporary exemptions, jet blue, delta, american, continental and u.s. airw airways. however, the transportation secretary has said he has turned down those requests. ray lahood is calling the rule an important consumer protection that should take effect as planned. it looks like the mega merger between united airlines and u.s. airways will not take place. u.s. airways released a statement saying it was no longer talking with ual, the parent company of united. the carrier still believes consolidation does make sense for the industry. united airlines has reportedly been in separate merger discussions with continental airlines. redskins fans will probably be talking today about the skins' first round draft pick.

>> reporter: two of the suspects in this case had been arrested before and had been released back into society by the justice system before these mass shootings happened. a lot of families were upset about that. now with the release of this 14-year-old, we have some of the family members saying, here we go again. >> as the investigation progressed, there was significant development among the witnesses in terms of the interviews and what they were saying. >> reporter: one of those developments led to the exoneration of a 14-year-old who police originally fingered as the getaway driver in the deadliest mass shooting in d.c. history, nine people were shot and four killed on a south capital street corner in southeast on march 30th. most of the victims were teens, gathering to mourn the loss of another friend shot and killed a week earlier. police were quickly on the scene. according to documents, a d.c. police sergeant says she witnessed the 14-year-old behind

the wheel of the getaway vehicle. peter nickles now says new fingerprint evidence and witness statements have exonerated the 14-year-old. the attorney general says he's now worried for the 14-year-old's safety as he may now play a crucial part as a witness in this investigation. >> public disclosure, which is unlawful, of the respondent as being involved in this crime has publicly labeled him as being involved in a serious crime and potentially compromise his safety. >> reporter: some family members of victims looked on during yesterday's press conference and say the 14-year-old being released is the justice system failing. >> but you didn't act on it. you did not act, sir. i will not excuse you, because you are a public official and you did not act. >> reporter: peter nickles felt so strongly about making it clear that they do not believe this 14-year-old was a suspect in this case he sought permission from the courts to be as open as possible about what

seen leaving brian betts' neighborhood on the night he was killed. betts was the principal at shaw middle school at garnet-patterson in northwest washington. he was found dead inside his si silver spring house last thursday. his suv was taken and found several days later. investigators have not released a description of the vehicle saw in an alley next to his home during the time of his during. dorothy height's body will lie in repose on pennsylvania avenue northwest. height led the council for negro women's organization for 40 years. her funeral will be on thursday at the national cathedral. it will be open to the public. senior staffers at the securities and exchange commission are coming under fire this morning. instead of working when the financial system was spiraling out of control, they were

reportedly looking at internet porn. in some cases up to eight hours a day. news 4's megan mcgrath joins us from northeast washington with more on this story. hard to believe, megan. >> reporter: talk about not doing your job. according to a report, employees of the securities and exchange commission, many of them high-ranking spent hours a day surfing pornography websites while at work and that they were doing this as the s.e.c. was supposed to be grappling with the nation's financial meltdown. now, the associated press obtained a copy of a memo written by the s.e.c.'s inspector general that outlines the findings of several internal probes. 33 of them in the past five years. among the surprising findings, a senior attorney with the s.e.c. surfed and downloaded pornography for up to eight hours a day. when his hard drive got full, he burns the material to cds and dvds and kept them in the office. the memo says he agreed to

retire when confronted. also, an accountant was blocked from accessing sexual websites 16,000 times in just one month. and that that employee, though, found a way around the s.e.c.'s filter and was able to amass a collection of pornography. that employee was suspended for 14 days. also, this memo says that 31 of the cases investigated occurred in the 2 1/2 years since the financial meltdown and that 17 of the employees are considered to be senior level at the s.e.c., making over $200,000 a year. needless to say, many lawmakers on capitol hill are not happy with what they've learned from this memo and they're calling for a crackdown. eun, back to you. >> megan mcgrath in northeast washington this morning. thank you. the huge environmental concern following the oil rig exxe explosion on the gulf coast. every few weeks it seems like there's a study telling us

you're watching news 4 today. after burning for two days, the oil rig off the coast of louisiana has sunk into the gulf of mexico. today there is growing concern about a major oil spill because of it. this is as searchers look for survivors. news 4's elaine reyes joins us live from the news room with more on this story. good morning. >> good morning, eun. rescuers are desperately searching for 11 missing workers, even though the outlook is grim. meantime, environmentalists are also keeping tabs on the disaster because the oil in that rig could be seeping into the water. the sunken rig could be leaking as much as 300,000 gallons of oil each day. coast guard officials aren't sure, though, if that is happening. in the worst case scenario it would take more than a month to equal the 11 million gallons spilled from the exxon valdez. the platform sunk into the gulf

rich and rural people. >> next week, airlines will be banned from stranding passengers in planes on the tarmac and there will be no exceptions. the rule establishes a three-hour time limit for keeping passengers in the planes that are blocked on the tarmac. five airlines want temporary exemptions from the rule, though. jetblue, delta, american, continental and u.s. airways. however, the transportation secretary says he's turned down those requests. ray lahood is calling the rules an important consumer protection that should take effect as plan sfwld a key vote is set for monday on the financial reform bill. cnbc's courtney reagan joins us live with more on this story and the rest of the business news. senate majority leader harry reid is tired of waiting. he's moving ahead on financial reform, scheduling a test vote on the bill for monday evening. democrats do need 60 votes to clear the way for floor debate on the measure.

as of thursday, 41 republicans were publicly opposed. the lawmakers are still seeking bipartisan agreement on the bill which would curb excesses on wall street and protect taxpayers from future bailouts. u.s. airways breaks off talks with united leaving ual to pursue a merger with continental. u.s. air was ready to sign the deal but found out united was more interested in continental. united has yet to confirm they are in walks with continental. while demand for air travel has improved, major carriers are still struggling to report profit. and if you fancy a trip to europe this spripg, you might be in luck. bestfare.com says airfares are down 68% from january. airlines were aggressive in their pricing earlier this year, anticipating a lot of people would be flying across the atlantic. that hasn't quite panned out. check out these round-trip fares, new york to paris for $309? atlanta to dublin for $404.

northwest washington with the latest. good morning, tracee. >> reporter: a 14-year-old has been exonerated. as you just said, two more arrests have been made. d.c. attorney general peter nickles said yesterday all charges have been dropped against the 14-year-old boy who was originally expected of being the driver. the victims, most of them teenagers standing on a corner were sprayed from shots from an ak- 47. police now say fingerprint evidence and witness statements have exonerated the 14-year-old. now, the d.c. attorney general is fearing for this 14-year-old's life. he made it very clear yesterday that this teen has been exonerated. he is going to be a witness in this case. and wanted to make sure that no harm came to this 14-year-old. now, two additional arrests have

been made. adult males are now in custody and the police are now looking for another suspect. they believe the final suspect in this case. yesterday the chief urged that x suspect to come forward and asked anyone who knows who this man is to urge him to come forward. she says she are looking for him and will find him. i'm tracee wilkins. joe, back to you in the studio. >> thank you. police in montgomery county are looking for information about a vehicle seen near the home of brian betts around the time he was murdered. the d.c. school principal was shot and killed inside his silver spring home last thursday. detectives say a vehicle was seen leaving an alley next to betts' house around the time of his death. crews are searching for 11 workers aboard an oil platform that sank in the gulf of mexico. the deep water horizon had a massive explosion on tuesday night and sank yesterday. rescuers say there was a slim chance that the missing workers did survive.
